Last year my company won a tender that entailed the construction of the stadium in a land that others can consider impossible to construct a stadium due to the swampy and hilly nature of the surrounding terrain. There was the additional challenge posed by the fact that the surrounding communities used to cut through the proposed areas while crossing to the other side of the city. It was imperative that we ensure this community was not prevented from going on with their normal life and additionally ensure that we delivered the project in 13 months. One of the issues evident during the construction was the conflicts between the different stakeholders. The project team was additionally frustrated when we failed to meet some of the project timelines. There were occasions that we were forced to work for extended hours without rest and others where we had to re-do some processes and tasks when they failed to met the expected quality.
