Question 5
In planning, the manager usually creates a detailed action plan that aim at some organizational goals. As a marketing manager, Leah had the goal of increasing sales in June. Thus, Leah considered spending time mapping out the necessary steps that she would take together with her team so as to increase sales. She considered increasing advertisement through social media, placing some items on sales, contacting prior customers, and also increasing the amount of necessary customer-to-sale representative contact.

In her plan, Leah was able to see some improvement in the sales as her decision to contact prior customers helped to increase the number of sales. Something that did not work in this plan was the idea of increasing advertisement through the use of social media. In this plan, Leah did not know that most of the people buying the product were over 50 years, and this population does not use social media often. If I was making the plan, the improvement that I would make is to consider increasing advertisement through the television and newspaper. When using this media for advertisement, it would ensure the product I am advertising reaches the target population.

It is important for managers to make sure that they spend the same amount of time in all phases.A leader can ease on controlling by ensuring the same attention in the planning, organizing, and leading phase.
