“There are so many challenges to bring that huge battle from the PC to mobile but we hope we can reach the same technical peaks that EVE Mobile ISK already has achieved”The on the go server changes are not the only thing which EVE Echoes has shifted up for gamers coming into New Eden onto a small screen. The staff in Netease has invested a significant amount of time changing the in game UI, streamlining it and making certain that new players can get to grip with their ships without a requirement for a mouse in sight.
That really isn’t the changes I got excited , however. Players who watched a current EVE Echoes Stream will have captured a glimpse of this Yan Jung, an older race that is coming back into EVE Echoes. Returning to new Eden this race is, as Wei Su described,
The details in EVE Online do not actually tell us a whole lot about the Yan Jung but it is a chance to ring something fresh and add even more diversity to the EVE experience. A number of our team are Asian and they love the notion of integrating oriental culture into the match. It will hopefully help to help expand the reach of EVE Online in many ways and deliver it to a larger population.”
The return of this Yan Jung creates a bold statement this is not just EVE for old school gamers. NetEase and CCP talked repeatedly of brining the core EVE experience to cellular but have made some modifications to the way the game plays out. While Wei Su verified that players can play with”however they need” building corporations or going out to mine the advantages of space, EVE Echoes has a few nice additions, which does not just mean additional skins and cool looking new boats.
One of those large exclusive additions to EVE Echoes that you won’t find in EVE Online is Outposts. Outposts are a distance structure that individual players can use in adverse locations like low sec and null sec for a staging ground and safe haven. Wei Su also confirmed the Outposts will comprise more than just a docking bay.
