That is why he’ll likely take part in the events of Diablo 4

The latest Diablo IV Gold cinematic trailer from Blizzard showcases Inarius in a battle against Lilith, armies at both of their backs. Although the scene doesn’t show Tyrael’s involvement directly, his creation of the Horadrim and involvement with the Paladins from Sanctuary suggests that he’s involved. Light and dark clash on the battlefield, and the sadly dead Tyrael sits somewhere in between.

It is likely his presence will be detected through these intermediaries, unless circumstances force his hand. Tyrael has a hard time coping with the aftermath of destroying the Worldstone at the end in Diablo 2. This mystical object protected Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell and he serves as the protector of the land in its stead. Tyrael does not appear likely to lead any further expeditions into Hell or travel any further than the Pandemonium Fortress, where he may provide advice similar to Deckard Cain for people who remain and listen.

Five different Diablo classes that can be played have been released so far, and they all represent takes on options from earlier games. In the sense that each installment has offered something new, perhaps Tyrael will become an active participant in the fight and help balance the sides by giving players the chance to summon angelic or demon powers to perform duties to Sanctuary. This type of game mechanic is likely to be similar to the multi-tree advancement already in the game.

It’s not likely that Blizzard plans to create Angels and Demons into classes, given that the series focuses on characters in the middle of their journey. In reality, though, as the only mortal stuck between Heaven and Hell Tyrael has an unimaginable position in all of Diablo story. It is likely that he will be a balancing act in the tale, perhaps even as a voice of reason instead of taking sides like his former self. Even when he is forced to take sides, Tyrael is now aware of the true value of the mortals. That is why he’ll likely take part in the events of Diablo 4.

Blizzard’s method of speccing your character’s spec in Diablo 4 is a blend of the Studio’s approach to Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. As executive producer and head of the Diablo franchise Rod Fergusson put it, “Diablo 2 felt like you were locked in. You could change your spec at least once per difficulty. But with D3 you kind of changed your character like you would change your clothes. Everything was gear-based as opposed to skill-based.”Fergusson added, “I think the fact that we have skills on the equipment [in Diablo 4] is really nice for experimentation — as a sorceress I [might] get Blizzard [on a pair of boots] three levels before I should and I can try Blizzard to see if I actually want it.”
